CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The DPS Driver License Center in Corpus Christi reopened Friday after closing its doors in March because of the pandemic.
The office is providing limited services by appointment only. Walk-ins are not permitted. Appointments can be made online at https://public.txdpsscheduler.com/.
Email confirmations should be provided at the office the day of the appointment.
DPS will require everyone to wait in their cars after checking in until called in.
Several residents had appointments Friday.
"So far it's simple, they got it down to where they're keeping people safe, safe as they can," said William Burdett.
"I'm glad that they're finally open. it's just been a long wait," Steve Tapia.
Before entering the building, staff outside will screen everyone's health.
Screening will include having your temperature taken, and everyone will be asked if they have or have been in contact has had any of the following symptoms in the previous 14 days:
- Cough
- Shortness of Breath
- Fever/Chills
- Body Aches
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
Face masks are mandatory for anyone taking a driving test.
