Gov. Greg Abbott's stay-at-home order expired at 11:59 a.m. Thursday. While many businesses are eagerly watching the clock, there are just as many equally hesitant to re-open out of an abundance of caution. Here is a list of some places that have announced if and when they will re-open:
COMMUNITY ATTRACTIONS
SOUTH TEXAS BOTANICAL GARDENS & NATURE CENTER: Reopened Friday.
THE U.S.S. LEXINGTON MUSEUM: Remains temporarily closed through May 21 with hopes of opening in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
THE TEXAS STATE AQUARIUM: Remains temporarily closed. Expects to reopen the week of May 18. If it opens, the Texas State Aquarium hours on the week of May 18 will be from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, with the H-E-B Splash Park, Pepsi Shoreline Grill and Café Aqua also open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
ART MUSEUM OF SOUTH TEXAS Remains closed.
RELIGIOUS CENTERS/CHURCHES
The Diocese of Corpus Christi will restart public masses during the May 9-10 weekend.
ENTERTAINMENT VENUES
WEBER BINGO: Reopened Friday. Wearing face masks is encouraged.
CENTURY 16: Remains closed. Looks to reopen in mid-summer.
ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE: Remains closed. No estimated reopen date given.
NORTHSHORE CINEMA (Portland): Remains closed. No estimatedreopen date given.
SHOPPING
LA PALMERA MALL: Twenty stores reopened Friday. Food court restaurants offer counter service. Food court seating area are closed, as are children's play area.
GOODWILL OF SOUTH TEXAS: Select stores reopened Friday: Staples/Saratoa, Annaville, Flour Bluff
RESTAURANTS REOPENING
Butter Churn (Aransas Pass): Reopened Friday
HOUSE OF ROCK: Reopens Monday
WALLBANGERS: Reopened Friday
CORNER BAKERY: Reopens May 4. Patio eating will be closed, and customers are encouraged to order online.
