It’s the first of the month and rent is due for a lot of folks.
If you do not have the money because you've lost your job, there's some help on the way.
Last week, Gov. Greg Abbott announced more than $11 million in aid for rent assistance.
That money will be distributed within weeks, and it will first go to local organizations such as the Salvation Army, or to local governments, and renters can then apply through them.
"Our amount of phone calls, amount of emails we're receiving from people needing rent and utility assistance has definitely increased," said Chantel Millen of the Salvation Army.
To receive help, go online to Help for Texans.
While that $11 million isn't available yet, existing grant funds can still help you right now.
