CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety Drivers’ License offices are expanding their in-person services.
Services will now include renewal and replacement appointments and some Saturday appointments.
In May, the DPS launched an appointment program that offered limited services.
Now, all services are available but by appointment only.
DPS officials say nearly 700,000 Texans had their licenses expire while their offices were closed.
That has created a backlog of drivers who need to renew their licenses.
