CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — William C. Robinson, a pastor working for Chi Alpha Campus Ministries in Corpus Christi, was booked in the Nueces County Jail early Monday morning.
Robinson is charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony. He pleaded not guilty to the charge Monday.
An arrest warrant affidavit issued July 7 states Corpus Christi Police Department officers spoke with Robinson. It also details the allegations he faces.
"Robinson stated he wanted to confess to inappropriate touching of (name redacted)," the affidavit states.
The Assemblies of God church sponsors the nonprofit Chi Alpha organization. That group's South Texas District office confirmed to KRIS 6 News that Robinson is a pastor for the ministry in Corpus Christi, but they were unable to say how long he had been employed, or the extent of his duties.
A Corpus Christi Police Department spokesperson said the department isn't aware of any additional victims.
"That being said, if any additional accusations are made, they will be investigated accordingly," they said.
The arrest affidavit states that allegations were made against Robinson during a forensic interview. Sexual contact with the child reportedly began when she was nine — more than five years ago.
"The offender in this case, by his own omission and by his acts, give cause for concern for the child's safety as well as others, which warrants his apprehension," the arrest affidavit states.
Robinson's bond is $100,000. He remained in custody Monday afternoon.
