CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Another round of showers and thunderstorms pushed through the Coastal Bend overnight, depositing generally less than an inch of much needed rain.

Isolated-to-scattered storms are expected to return late this week into early next week.

A weak cold front moved through the region early today and was the focus for the showers and thunderstorms, but that system is now dissipating offshore.

Upper-level high pressure will build into the region briefly midweek, making for a sunny and hot Wednesday.

Gulf moisture returns ahead of another wave of instability by late Thursday, so a few showers can be expected.

Look for isolated showers and thunderstorms Friday through Sunday.

Scattered showers and storms may occur early next week, as deep tropical moisture pushes north from the Eastern Pacific.

Highs will remain in the upper 80s, with lows in the lower-to-middle 70s.
