CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Julio's Easy Stop has brought some culinary history to the Coastal Bend.

This popular eatery at 5945 Greenwood is where they invented their famous "Fry Pie" that has delighted hungry customers for 45 years.

it all began right here in this small building back in the early 1970’s.

They sold hamburgers out of the facility. And then, about five years ago, they moved across the street into that much larger building where they serve up a wide variety of tasty treats.

And it was here in the kitchen where their famous “fry pie” got its name.

“It’s almost like a chili cheese fry but instead of putting chili cheese we put carne guisada and cheese on it," owner Randy Roldan said. "It’s a really big hitter for us. We sell a lot of those and our customers talk about it a lot.”

You can get pretty much get anything you want here. Roldan offers free samples to new customers and will even customize.

“Anything you ask for we can make it for you," he said. "If it’s something not on the menu we will try and make it anyway you want it.”

Julio’s Easy stop is a big supporter of anyone wearing a badge or uniform.

“The firefighters and policemen come in and I always give them a free meal or some type of discount," Roldan said.

And if you’re a big sports fan, be sure and check out all of their Dallas Cowboys pictures. You will see some big-time autographed photos including the great Tony Dorsett.
