CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Today's We're Open takes us to one of the top local fried chicken chains in the area.
Good-N-Crisp Chicken has been serving up delicious food to Coastal Benders as a locally owned business for more than two decades.
Owner Gary Rogers has three locations. The ones on Calallen and The Island have been open throughout the pandemic and the one on Gollihar soon will be reopening.
Rogers and his business have serving up great checking for 23 years and they love to give back to the community.
Today, they donated lunch for the staff at Calallen High School who were busy passing out work packets to students
And on a hot day like today, that hot chicken was a win/win for both parties.
“They are doing a lot especially with the kids at home and they are still dealing with the kids and doing all that stuff," Good-N-Crisp general manager Joanne Cruz said. "So we like to help them out as well."
The chicken was appreciated, according to Calallen High School speech teacher Charlene Dietrich.
"Our teachers and counselors and staff have been outside every Monday in the heat as they have been countless throughout the city," Dietrich said. "But we really appreciate it.”
Good-N-Crisp serves up more than just chicken. They are known for their fish, side dishes and tasty array of desserts.
