CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Today’s We’re Open report takes us to a very popular downtown Mexican restaurant known for great tacos, enchiladas and their support for those in need.
Garibaldi Mexican Restaurant at 200 N. Staples has been dishing up home-cooked Mexican favorites for the past 25 years.
Owner Mingo Sevilla has been serving up the goods at the corner North Staples and Blucher Street right behind our KRIS Communications studio.
And yes, we love to frequent the restaurant, too.
The Sevilla family is always willing to to help out anyone in need. They never turn away the hungry, regardless of their ability to pay.
“We have decided that it does not matter if you are short a penny , dollar or even three dollars," Garibaldi manager Stefani Sevilla said. "If you’re hungry or thirsty, come to us and we are more than happy to help you”
The Sevillas are understandably excited about tomorrow's re-opening of their dining room.
They have already spaced out their their tables at least 10 feet apart. And 25 percent of their occupancy will result in 40 customers being served at once.
