CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — In today's We're Open report, we look at an iconic southside restaurant that has been serving up delicious breakfast and dinner plates for more than six decades
Come hungry when you visit Andy's Kitchen at 5802 S. Staples, where it's been located since 1978. Andy's history in the area dates to 1958.
Whether it's their rib-sticking chicken fried steak and eggs, breakfast enchiladas, and hot puffy blueberry muffins, generations have flocked to Andy's at Staples near Holly.
And after being closed for nearly two months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Andy's finally reopened a couple of weeks ago for their adoring clientele.
"Everybody came back very happy," said Andy's owner and GM Miriam Musalem. "Every day, we have the same faces."
The delicious food leads some regular customers from not straying too far from their favorites they have developed at Andy's over the years.
"The service is really good for one thing and the food is always consistent," loyal customer Bert Rucker said. "I always get the same thing and she usually gets the same thing."
