CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Police are swarming the southside looking for a robbery suspect.

Very few details are being released at this time but several officers are patrolling the area surrounding the 6400 block of Weber Road near Saratoga Boulevard after a robbery took place at the Times Market on Weber near Saratoga.

Crime witness Sunni Wunderlich told KRIS 6 News she was standing outside of the market with her husband when the suspect who was inside the store kicked the store's door open and fell on the ground. He quickly got up and ran towards the Dolphin's Landing Apartments next door.

Witnesses said as the Times Market store owner, known to customers as Ms. Ann, tried to lock the store's door from the outside to trap him inside, the suspect kicked the door open hitting her in the face and knocking her to the ground. She received a small cut above her right eye and was treated at the scene.

Wunderlich said her husband and another man chased the robbery suspect to a building toward the back of the Dolphin's Landing apartment complex, where they lost him.

Meanwhile, several officers are in the area searching for the suspect.
