TEXAS — Governor Greg Abbott says the Texas Army National Guard will be on standby to respond to any possible violence after Election Day.
As this election year has garnered civil unrest from both sides of the political aisle, Gov. Abbott wants to stay prepared in case any violence may occur as election results unfold.
The governor stressed that guard members “will not be at any polling places... and will have no role” in the election at all.
He says the deployment would only be done in order to keep the peace.
