DALLAS, Texas — The city of Dallas said "adios" to Big Tex this morning.

The 68th annual State Fair of Texas officially ended Saturday and the 55-foot tall talking cowboy took that news lying down.

Crews moved him from his spot where he greeted visitors to the annual state fair at Fair Park.

Big Tex was carefully lowered to the ground and is on his way to storage for next year's event.

This year's state fair was a drive-thru only format because of the pandemic.

Even Big Tex sported a face mask during the proceedings.
