After the second reading of Senate Bill 22, Texas Senator Donna Campbell passed a bill that won’t allow state or local taxes to go towards Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers.
“Texas taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to subsidize the abortion industry with their tax dollars, abortion providers unnaturally end the lives of almost 60,000 of our tiniest and most vulnerable Texans every year,” said Senator Campbell. “That fact alone should make them ineligible to receive tax dollars. I’m proud of the 20 colleagues in the Senate who joined me on this important bill.”
According to a press release from the Texas Senate office, the bill is expected to pass 20 – 11 after its final reading tomorrow.
