EL PASO, Texas (AP) – A Fort Bliss soldier has been arrested in connection with a stabbing attack that killed a woman and wounded two other soldiers, according to El Paso police.

Army Spc. Torian A. Davis, 22, was arrested Wednesday on charges of murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, The El Paso Times reported . He’s being held in the El Paso County Jail on a $1.1 million bond.

A Fort Bliss spokesman declined to comment on the charges but said Davis was assigned to the 1st Armored Division.

Police haven’t released the name of the 25-year-old woman who was killed.

The stabbings occurred Saturday at an apartment where Davis, the woman and Spc. Anthony Velasco, 21, were drinking and doing drugs, according to police.

Davis allegedly attacked the pair “without any provocation,” slashing Velasco’s throat and stabbing the woman, police said. Davis then left the apartment complex and allegedly “randomly pummeled” 1st Lt. Jared Abes, who had just parked his car outside the building, police said.

The woman, Velasco and Abes were transported to University Medical Center of El Paso. The woman died at the hospital, while Abes, 23, was taken to the intensive care unit.

Velasco was treated and released, according to police.
