Despite monster game, Elliott blames himself for Cowboys’ loss

Posted

Ezekiel Elliott had his best game of the season as Dallas stumbled to a loss at Seattle.

Despite rushing for a season-high 127 yards, Elliott blamed himself for the disappointing 24-13 loss to drop Dallas to 1-2.

“I had a poor performance today,” Elliott told reporters after the game. “Did well in the run game, but overall, I dropped the ball. That loss is on me.”

Elliott finished with a 7.9 yards per rush average that was were the second-best of his career in a game. But he was flagged for an illegal touch of a forward pass that negated what would have been a 31-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter, and he fumbled in the fourth quarter during the Cowboys’ comeback.

Zeke is the best player on the Cowboys’ roster. He is Dallas’ best offensive weapon – by far.

The Cowboys’ lack of productivity among wide receivers again showed up Sunday afternoon in Seattle. And when Dak Prescott can’t stretch defenses vertically, it’s hard for the Cowboys to win.

And yes, Dez Bryant still is available.
