It was back to normal tonight for the student-athletes over in the Refugio ISD.

Tonight the junior-varsity boys and girls teams with Refugio High School hosted Three Rivers for their first home games since 2017.

The district ended up with a lot of damage more than two years ago when Hurricane Harvey hit.

Since then, the district has had to use gyms from other school districts so their teams could practice and compete.

The community is real excited,” said girls’ basketball coach David Hemphill. “The kids are especially excited because they haven't been in their gym in a long time.”

Some minor work still needs to be done in the gym, but as you can see it's still good to go for the athletes.
