REFUGIO, Texas — A special meeting for Refugio ISD is being held tonight at the school's cafeteria.
The only item on the agenda will be the high school's controversial fight song.
Just last month, things got heated during a Refugio ISD school board meeting after several residents expressed their opposition to the school board's decision to keep "Dixie" as Refugio High School's fight song.
Some claim the song is racist because of its roots that date back to before the Civil War.
Trustees will discuss whether to continue using the song during tonight's meeting.
They'll also be hearing comments from the public.
If you'd like to attend, that meeting is going to be held at the Refugio High School cafeteria at 5:30 p.m.
