CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Once a month, Frost Bank visits Roy Miller High School for their Frost Financial Youth Academy.
This year long financial literacy program teaches Pre-AP Calculus students about what to expect in the real world.
Every month, the Corpus Christi Frost Bank Regional President pays a visit to the high school to teach students about checking and savings accounts, investments, and credit card use.
This week, Frost Bank is warning students about the credit card offers that will be pouring in after they graduate.
They want students to know exactly what they'll be getting themselves into by accepting those offers.
"I don't want our students to struggle and depend upon other people.
I want them to be educated in the true sense of the world when they get out there in the real world," said Mrs. Bannerjee, Miller Pre-Cal Teacher.
Frost Bank will also choose a graduating senior to receive a five hundred dollar scholarship.
Mrs. Bannerjee says she's pushing for these financial youth academy classes to be offered to the entire math department at miller.
