CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Last week, Mayor Joe McComb expressed some concerns about the Port of Corpus Christi's support for a proposed Phillips 66 offshore oil terminal.

We’ll be speaking with Port CEO Sean Strawbridge this afternoon to talk about this Phillips 66 project.

The port previously opposed a similar project proposed by Trafigura and convinced the city council and commissioners court to do the same, citing environmental concerns.

McComb says without knowing the specifics, the Phillips 66 project sounds a lot like Trafigura's.

He's worried about the city's air attainment status.

We’ll have the port's response coming up this evening on KRIS 6 News.

Phillips 66's proposed offshore terminal would be some 20 miles offshore from Corpus Christi near San Jose Island in San Patricio County.
