COLORADO SPRINGS — People in Colorado weren't the only ones enjoying the snow and winter-like weather Wednesday morning.

Two bear cubs were playing with the tree branches outside of KOAA's building in Colorado just after 4 a.m.

Video captured from the KOAA Colorado Springs studio off Rockrimmon Boulevard shows the cubs running away to catch up with mama bear after spending a little time playing with the tree.

Those already at the station were able to watch the cubs from behind the window, while some had to wait in their cars for the cubs to leave.

Bears are currently in a state of hyperphagia, or an increased hunger and appetite, as they fatten up for winter hibernation.

Everyone near wildlife should be aware of bears as they continue their feeding frenzy for up to 24 hours a day through mid-December, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Since early April, Colorado Parks and Wildlife has received nearly 5,000 bear incident reports, of which over half involved bears looking for food.
