Southwest Airlines is joining the list of United States air carriers in mandating the COVID-19 vaccine for its employees.

The airline says it's contracts with the U.S. government require full compliance with the federal vaccination directive.

Southwest is giving employees until Dec. 8 to become fully vaccinated.

Southwest joins United Airlines, American Airlines, JetBlue and Alaska Airlines in complying with the order of the Biden Administration.
