Donate old bras to mend broken turtle shells

Don’t let that old bra go to waste! Some wildlife experts discovered that they can mend broken turtle shells using old bra clamps.

The Carolina Waterfowl Rescue shared the discovery on their Facebook page on Thursday and credited the idea to the Wildthunder Wildlife & Animal Rehabilitation & Sanctuary.

In the past month, according to ABC13, the organization saw about 40 turtles a week with damaged shells. Some get hit by boats and possibly even predators in the ocean.

Along with the bras, other items can be donated as well:

Earthworms (Most Important)
Lettuces (Romane)
Eco Earth
Fish tank filters + cartilage
Basking Lights
UVB lights (Long tube ones preferable)
Hook and Eyelets
Loctite Epoxy
MARINE TEX
different gauges
Nail acrylic (Powder and liquid)
Earthworms (again)
