MOUNT AIRY, NC. (NBC) – Two children are recovering after being shot in a road rage incident Saturday in Mount Airy, North Carolina.

Police arrested 41-year-old Byron Donnell Green of Mount Airy.

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office says Green shot a 9-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl after their father became involved in a road rage incident with him.

The children were driven to the hospital by their father.

The boy was treated and released, and the girl was reported in stable condition after undergoing surgery.

Green is currently being held on a $600,000 bond.
