The United States Coast Guard has taken down a tip sheet suggesting what furloughed civilian employees could do to make money to cover expenses white not being paid during the partial government shutdown.

The sheet encouraged employees to supplement their income by, among other things, having garage sales, babysitting or taking up dog walking.

The Washington Post first reported on the tip sheet, which was titled “Managing Your Finances During a Furlough,” and posted to the website of a Coast Guard employee support program.

WaPo says after it asked the Coast Guard about the tip sheet, it was quickly taken down on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the Coast Guard said the tip sheet does not reflect the Coast Guard’s current efforts to support its workforce during the shutdown.
