SARASOTA, FL (NBC) – A Florida thrift store employee found a little more than clothing in a donation box.
Employee Mimi Williams says she was sorting through a donation from the company’s white glove service and when she got to one of her last boxes, she says she found more than 12-thousand dollars at the bottom of the box.
Williams said,”Got to the third one and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, Xavier!!! Look what I found.”
She immediately notified her manager about the discovery.
Her manager says Mimi is a model employee for how she handled the discovery.
A spokesperson for Goodwill says the money was traced back to a law firm of a deceased client and given to relatives.
