A long awaited mural honoring Selena is being assembled in the Molina neighborhood this morning.

The mural, on the corner of Bloomington and Elvira Drive, replaces older artwork that was there for 25 years.

The Selena Foundation and local organizers have been planning this project for over a year.

“Selena lived right down the street. She didn't go to Hollywood. She didn't go to New York. She stayed right here in the Molina neighborhood.

She's been an inspiration to me, latinos, this generation, and for generations to come.” Said organizer Eric Lee Tunchez.

The Selena foundation and local organizers have been planning this project for over a year with artist,, San Siguenza, who also designed the Selena commemorative cups for Stripes.
