Woman shot, in hospital in west side altercation

A 45-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries Thursday night tonight after being shot during an altercation with neighbors.

Corpus Christi Police Department spokesman Lt. Michael Pena said the fight took place at around 8:17 p.m. in the 3700 block Up River Road on the west side of Corpus Christi.

He said the incident was the result of a disturbance between two neighbors, a weapon was fired and the woman was hit.

Pena said all the people involved in the shooting, and witnesses, have been detained.

He declined to release any more details.
