Woman killed identified in weekend I-37 accident

The Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the woman who was killed in a traffic accident on I-37 near McKinzie Road.

Corpus Christi Police Department Public Information Senior Officer Travis Pace said Anna Quiroz was killed after getting out of her car on the highway. The reason why she was out of her car has not been confirmed.

Quiroz, who was 24 years old, died of blunt-force trauma to the body and head.

The 69-year-old driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges are expected to be filed in the accident, but it does remain under investigation.
