CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Three CCISD schools that were under lock-down are lifted after police arrested two suspects involved in a reported shooting.
The shooting happened just before 10:30 am Thursday in the 4800 block of Prescott Street on the city's Westside.
According to police, several juveniles tried to steal a vehicle from a home drive-way. The owner of the home walked out of his home and pulled out a gun as the juveniles were leaving the drive-way with the truck.
The homeowner fired several gunshots into the air causing the juveniles to flee from the truck.
Because the shooting took place near three CCISD schools, their facilities were placed under lock-down.
Two suspects were detained while two other juveniles ran away from the scene on foot.
According to CCISD Police Chief Kirby Warnke, Moody High School, Garcia Elementary, and Mary Grett Transition Center were placed under lock-down as a precaution. The lockdown was lifted around 11:10 am Thursday.
Police at the scene said there were no reported injuries. DPS Troopers were also at the scene.
