Two massage parlor employees are facing sex-related charges after police conducted a sting at their establishment.
According to Corpus Christi Police Department's Public Information Officer Lt. Mike Pena, someone contacted the police department to complain about some suspicious activity at J.J. Massage on the 5100 block of Everhart Road near Corona Drive.
Lt. Pena said, yesterday, around 2:30 pm, an undercover officer visited the facility and a female employee offered him a sexual act for a specific price. The undercover officer then asked the manager if he paid that price whether he would in fact receive that sexual act. He agreed. So, that's when both were arrested.
The manager of the establishment, Yuquan Zhang, 45, was charged with promotion of prostitution, which is a Class A misdemeanor. If convicted, he could face up to one year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine. Zhang's bond was set at $15,000.
HIs employee, Shanmei Huang, 46, was charged with prostitution, which is a Class B misdemeanor. If convicted, she could face up to 180 days in jail, fine of up to $2,000.
Pena says no more arrests are expected.
Meanwhile, Zhang's bond was set at $15,000. He bonded out earlier today.
Huang's bond was set at $5,000. As of Thursday afternoon, she was in the Nueces County Jail.
