CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Friday night, Lee Sausley and Katia Uriarte gave a thumb's up to a local high school student over at Mary Carroll High School.
15-year-old Julie Sanchez, who is a sophomore, recently awarded a medal at the visual arts scholastic event.
It was for this painting.
She was competing with 400 students in the area.
And because Sanchez won the competition, she is now moving on to a state competition which will be in April in San Marcos, Texas.
