CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A teenage boy is in critical condition following a shooting Sunday night.
Corpus Christi police said they were called to the intersection of Leigh and Villa Dr. for a shots fired call just after 9 p.m.
When officers got to the scene, a Hispanic male between 16 and 17-years-old was found shot in the chest.
He was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline in critical condition.
Police believe the shooting stemmed from an argument via text messaging between the victim and the suspect, who's described to be a Hispanic male.
Police said following that argument, the suspect arrived at a home on the 3000 block of Leigh Dr. and argued with the victim in the driveway before shooting at him several times, striking him in the chest.
Police are now actively searching for the suspect, who is believed to have driven off in a white or grey pick-up truck with lights underneath.
