Suspect captured in Three Rivers after local kidnapping

THREE RIVERS, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department confirmed with us this afternoon that Thomas Hutchins, the suspect involved in this kidnapping case, was taken into custody at a home in Three Rivers about 2:20 p.m. Saturday.

All of this stemming from a kidnapping incident that we know begin on Thursday.

According to law enforcement officials , the suspect Hutchins kidnapped Paulina Hernandez at gunpoint on Thursday morning.

That's after Hutchins, her former boyfriend, broke into the home that she was staying at.

It was about 9 a.m. Saturday when police were able to locate the suspect at the home in Three Rivers.

The standoff took place for several hours ending around 2:20 p.m. when the suspect surrendered to police.

Hutchins now is in police custody while Hernandez was also located safely in that home.

Hutchins has been charged with three outstanding warrants for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and burglary of habitation. His bonds for those three crimes total $170,000.
