SINTON, Texas — After a series of troubling damages to major water lines in Sinton, the city remains under a boil water notice.
Businesses and residents say that their water pressure has been restored, but that boil water notice remains in effect.
After revisiting the site of those ruptured water lines, we’re told that job is completed. However, the new challenge has been in obtaining a water sample.
Although the details have not been made clear as to why, the city has not able to give a clean sample of the city's water supply. Those samples are then tested by the health department in Nueces County. And while we have not yet heard back, we do know they are currently dealing with a massive number of COVID-19 vaccines.
In the meantime, the Sinton Police Department’s Facebook page, which is what residents out here look to for guidance, is reinforcing that the boil water notice remains in effect. A timeline of when it is lifted is still not clear.
Almost all businesses in the city were closed today, but it’s a different story today. Many businesses are serving bottled water and canned drinks just because it’s been so unclear.
