ROCKPORT, Texas — Rockport police officers say they have arrested a man who is accused of committing multiple burglaries.

RPD arrested Zakry Tabor Dec. 14, 2020. Police say they were able to make an arrest based on the help of residents of the Coastal Oaks RV Park.

Upon searching Tabor's parent's residence, RPD found many items that were associated with previous cases including car burglaries, home invasion and shoplifting.

Detectives added the parents are not suspected of being involved in any of the son’s crimes.

Tabor is being held at the Aransas County Detention Center.

He has previously been charged with Burglary of a Habitation and Burglary of Vehicles

Rockport Police Chief Greg Stevens said, “This is a major coup for the citizens of Rockport and the Police Department. We are now able to close out more than 8 case files and residents can rest easier knowing that he’s behind bars.”

Chief Stevens added, “Just because this bad apple is locked up does not mean residents should relax. People should still be careful to keep valuables out of sight, lock their vehicles, and lock their houses.”

The items collected will be cataloged, and the victims will be notified.

Some of the item will be listed on the Rockport Police Department’s web site.
