The Freer Police Department Facebook page is reporting that its landlines are down due to a power outage.
A transformer and power pole caught fire, they said, causing a line to go down and knock power out to much of the city.
Emergency calls should still be made to 911, but for non-emergency calls, call (361) 453-5644.
