A major hurdle has been cleared for the Port of Corpus Christi in its effort to get a permit for seawater desalination on Harbor Island.
The State Office of Administrative Hearings, or SOAH, issued a ruling Monday that the port's permit be approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The Environmental Protection Agency also will get a chance to weigh in on this ruling.
The permit application meets all state and federal requirements.
