CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We’ve been checking levels at the creek all night and morning and since then the water has risen to 25.3 ft as of 8:15 a.m. which is considered major flood stage.

Major flood stage is when the Creek reaches 25 ft.

And with more rain on the way, the waters are expected to continuing rising today.

Area residents say they were are not worried about the water levels being high.

One gentleman who wanted to be referred to as Scott said he was out biking to see what the creek looked like this morning and remembered 12 years ago when a car was washed down the creek.

“The street was completely covered and I saw a vehicle washed up about 200 meters,” Scott said. “I came out today to get a few photos and see how much difference it is and it’s not just as bad as that."

As always if you are driving and an area looks flooded, turn around and be safe.
