CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Some of Corpus Christi's finest were promoted today.
A special ceremony was held for nine of the city's police officers.
Senior officers Adam Flores, Paul Janko, Christopher Meer and Mike Wertanen are now lieutenants.
Lieutenants Timothy Frazier, Trenade Paddock-Roberts, Frank Perez and Israel Soza were promoted to captains.
And Captain James Lerma is now deputy chief.
“It means I'm gonna have more opportunity to serve and lead the troops, lead officers and make a difference in our community,” Paddock-Roberts said.
The officers were pinned with their new badges and received a certificate of appointment today.
