CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety has started issuing newly designed drivers licenses, ID cards and gun carry cards this week.
Besides a new look, the cards have enhanced security features and are more tamper-resistant making it harder to reproduce.
Other cool features include identifiers on the front of the card for anyone with a health condition that may not allow them to communicate with others.
The card will also feature a label for veterans and disabled veterans along with the branch of service they served in.
The new cards are also all REAL ID compliant as noted by a gold star on the top right corner of the card. That will be required for air travel starting this October.
