New stand-up desks getting rave reviews from Kaffie students

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — You could say it's standing room only at Kaffie Middle School.

The Corpus Christi Education Foundation recently awarded the school a grant to buy 12 stand-up desks.

Teachers say the desks seem to help students focus on their work and finish their assignments faster.

A couple of students we spoke with give the desks a standing ovation.

“They're really convenient, cause I get really fidgety towards the end of the day,” eighth grader Nadia Arroya said. “And standing just makes it a lot easier to focus on what I'm doing.”

Sixth grader Caleb Hess said the new desk helps him learn.

“I have an easier time understanding what I'm doing,” Hess said. “It just gets tiring sitting at, in a desk at the end of the day.”

Kaffie students also have the option of using a ball chair.

It’s just what it sounds like. A chair with a ball that you sit on.

The ball chair helps improve your posture.
