CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Therapy dogs are helping lots of people get through the stress of the pandemic and now more dogs are trained to provide that help.
The organizations "Go team therapy" and "Air dogs incorporated" held a training course today at the Corpus Christi International Airport.
Those dogs often go to schools in times of crisis and other places like nursing homes.
"They're like stress buster dogs," said Nancy Trepagnier, Go Team Dogs Therapy Executive Director and Founder. "So let's say during the holidays, thanksgiving, or flight delays, they'll call out these teams, and what theses teams do is calm the people."
44 dogs and 48 handlers from across the state took part in the training Saturday.
