CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — There's good news for residents of a Westside subdivision who have been dealing with a chronic flooding problem for years.
The City Council unanimously voted to accept a $7.2 million grant from the General Land Office for the La Volla Creek Drainage Improvement Project, near Greenwood and Holly Road.
The grant will be used to build a detention pond to prevent future flooding in that neighborhood.
No construction timeline has been set.
