GREGORY, Texas — A day after a trench collapsed at a construction site for an apartment complex in Gregory killing a worker and injuring to others, new information has come out including the name of the deceased.

"36-year-old Corpus Christi resident Reynaldo Alaniz Rosalez was pronounced dead at Northshore ER," a press release from Gregory Police Chief Tony Cano said.

KRIS 6 was also able to confirm that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is looking into the collapse.

"The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has an open and ongoing investigation into this incident," U.S. Labor Department Deputy Regional Director Juan Rodriguez said in an emailed statement. "OSHA has up to six months to complete its investigation."

OSHA also informed Chief Cano that one of the two injured workers was released from the hospital. It's unclear whether it was the 33-year-old man or the 57-year-old man who got released.

KRIS 6 also reached out to Kocurek Land Improvement, the victims' employer, with several questions.

"We have no comment," was the only response provided by Amanda Kocurek.

A fellow construction worker at a site just down FM 2986 from where the trench collapse happened was disappointed to hear about Rosalez's death.

"It's very sad for the family that lost the gentleman," Eduardo Escobedo said. "Our prayers are with them."
