CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Annaville and Corpus Christi fire fighters made quick work of a structure fire at the corner of Leonard and Annaville Road Wednesday morning.

The Annaville Fire Department was dispatched about 7:05 a.m. to a structure fire, according to Annaville Fire Chief Michael Clack. Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy smoke and flames pouring through the rook. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to a small facility attached to the house.

The fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes.

"The house sits up on blocks and we had fire above and below the house," Clack said. "It took a little bit longer but it was out pretty quick."

Witnesses said they saw people come out of the other house but firefighters haven’t been able to confirm that fact, Clack said.

There were no injuries reported.

"Everybody was able to leave here safely and we were able to contain the fire to just the one building," Clack said.

The Corpus Christi fire investigator was on the scene and continues an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
