CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — A 39-year-old man is dead following a rollover crash involving a three-wheeled motorcycle.

Corpus Christi police said the incident happened at 1:51 a.m. on the access road near SPID and Staples.

Lt. Timothy Frazier said the 39-year-old driver was speeding on the access road, lost control, hit a curb, and flipped over.

"He was traveling at a very high rate of speed," Frazier said. "Faster than the vehicles on the highway. Less than 100 (mph), but way more than 60."

The man was ejected from the vehicle. A witness came to the man's aid and performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

He was taken to Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The driver was the only one in the vehicle and did not hit any other cars before the crash.

No one else was injured in the accident.
