CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — London High School senior Justin Cuevas got into the holiday spirit a little early on Monday.

As a result, faculty at the school were able to fill their bellies with a free lunch.

Cuevas. 17, used money generated by his own business to pay for a free barbecue dinner with all the trimmings on Monday.

“I own my own business,” Cuevas said. “It’s a photo booth company called ‘Photogenic Photo Booth.’ I take it to quinceaneras, parties and school events.”

Cuevas raised $800 last month through his photo booth. He used the money to order BBQ chicken, brisket, potato salad and sweet tea from B.J.’s Catering.

"I thought they deserved something for Thanksgiving,” he said. “A free lunch would be perfect since everyone will be out of school next week.

“They all seemed to enjoy the thought of it.”

Cuevas, who enjoys giving back to people, said he hopes this gesture will encourage others to do the same.

"Give back to people who have given to you and made an impact on your life,” he said. “I really enjoy giving back to people.”

His selfless act delighted London ISD superintendent Jodi Whitis.

“Our theme for the year is ‘London proud,’” Whitis said. “This is a prime example of ‘London Proud.’ I couldn’t be more proud of this young man. He’s going to do great things in this world.”
