CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It may be a brand new year, but unfortunately we didn't leave the flu season behind.
If anything, it continues to get worse.
According to the city/county health department, 749 confirmed cases of the flu were reported in the last full week of 2019.
Compare that to the same time period a year ago, when a total of 155 confirmed cases were reported.
And there's more bad news as the flu season typically doesn't hit its peak until February or March.
