INGLESIDE, Texas — The Ingleside Police Department and the San Patricio County Sheriff's office are warning citizens of bogus scammer calls taking place in their service area.
San Patricio County Sheriff Oscar Rivera says that scammers are calling people in their area telling them to send money.
Rivera tells residents to hang up on the call, because it's a scam.
The call apparently has a "Lieutenant Richard" telling people they need to pay an outstanding fine.
Rivera says he is taking reports from victims who might have paid money to the scammer. Contact his office for more information.
"Please do not give them your credit card or bank information," Rivera says in a Facebook post that was shared by the Ingleside Police Department.
